“My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:33-35)
I’ve been praying about the theme for this blog. Something that I could focus on when writing the posts. And God has shown me in several ways that I should talk about love.
As I have already shared with you in one of the first posts I wrote, God has been working in my life in that area.
When I changed the visual of this blog, I thought it would be a good moment to give it a theme, a main subject.
First, I checked which were the subjects I talked most about since I began writing this blog. So I reorganized it and used one single tag for each post.
The top tags (until now) were:
Some of the posts about Jesus also talk about love. And charity, in the Biblical sense, is also a type of love. So you can say that love is already the top theme of this blog.
But I intend to focus on it even more from now on. It doesn’t mean that I won’t explore other subjects.
The ultimate objective is to learn to love like Jesus meant for us to do.
The verses I shared at the beginning of this post show the importance that Jesus gave to us loving one another. He was about to be taken prisoner and He knew He was going to die. Those were the last instructions that He gave to the apostles before the resurrection. And He talked about love.
So let’s talk about love too. I hope you join me not only in talking, but also in practicing and living it. That’s how they will know we are Christians: by our love.
Let me know what you think. Feel free to add a comment, I’d love to read your suggestions.
Love is the most important human issue we can face in life. And love is certainly not just “romance”. It is serving, giving, sharing, investing in other hearts, Some days my love is extremely in place… and other times its extremely furiously out of place. My recent motto: God is BIGGER, and that is what I must rely on when my attitude or action is out of His Hand and He will draw me back in and restore my love-soul.
I’m sure you will do well. You are gifted by our Lord to reach out and abound with His Word and His purposes in our various global cultures.
Joanne, thank you for your kind words. You too are very gifted and God has been using you in amazing ways. I’m so glad you share your experiences, we all can learn a lot from you. Thank you!
