Many things in life get us worried. And a common reason for worry is our finances. If money is getting short, we start making calculations, trying to figure out what to do. We worry.

Do you know what God says about it? Check it out in Jesus’s own words:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?”

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” (Matthew 6:25-34)

What good does it do to worry? God has promised to provide what we need, right?

This is why Jesus said “do not worry”: when we worry, we leave room for doubt. And if we let doubt enter our minds, we start questioning. We question whether God is willing to provide, whether He cares about us at all, whether He can do what we need…

And then we forget all that He has already done! We forget that we already have the proof we need to trust Him in our own life.

If God was willing to give His only Son to die for us, what wouldn’t He do for our good?

So, for whatever reason, if you are doubting, if you are unsure, if you forgot, then keep in mind…

God cares for you:

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Do not fear, He promised to be with you:

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

He is always present when we need Him:

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. (Psalm 46:1)

Do not forget everything He has done:

Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits — who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. (Psalm 103:2-5)

Don’t let doubt keep you from what God has for you. Remember what He has already done, and do not worry.
